PHysician: Thomas J. Miller Jr, MD
Dr. Miller was born in November of 1980 to Joe and Angie Miller of Claxton, Georgia. Beginning at a very young age, he aspired to become a family physician and return home to Claxton, so he could help people live healthier, happier lives.
In 1999, Dr. Miller graduated with Honors from Pinewood Christian Academy as Salutatorian of his class. After this, he pursued and obtained a B.S. in Biology from Georgia Southern University in 2003.
To begin his official career in medicine, Dr. Miller attended the Medical College of Georgia and graduated in 2010 with his M.D. After this, he went to further his studies as a resident at Floyd Family Medicine Residency in Rome, Georgia. While there, he was chosen as the Resident Teacher of the Year (2012), Chief Resident (2012-2013), and Resident of the Year (2013). Dr. Miller became a board certified family physician by the State of Georgia in 2013.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Miller fulfilled his childhood dream to return home to Claxton, Georgia to open a private practice in hopes of reaching out and helping the people of Evans County and surrounding areas. In August of 2013, he joined his long-time mentor, Dr. Glen Dasher, at Southern Family Medicine.
